Description
Crafted from barley grown by Ger Byrne on his farm in Fenniscourt, County Offaly, this single malt is a testament to the terroir of Irish whiskey. The barley was harvested on August 10, 2017, distilled on September 10, 2018, and matured for 3 years, 8 months, and 5 days before being bottled on August 24, 2022.
The Fenniscourt 1.1 is a complex and intriguing whisky that rewards exploration. Its rich buttermilk color is a testament to the quality of the spirit. The nose is a captivating blend of peat, saltiness, pear skin, woodland moss, hay, lemon skin, dried thyme, malted biscuits, marzipan, cooked banana, sweet floralness, wattle and daub, and golden syrup. The taste is a symphony of flavors, with farm tastes, dry rub, bog myrtle, clove sweets, leather, maraschino cherry, barley husks, and gooseberry jam dancing across the palate. The finish is soft, earthy, warm, dry, and lingers in gentle waves.
With only 11,898 bottles released, the 2022 Peated Single Farm Origin Fenniscourt 1.1 is a highly sought-after collector’s item. This special release is a celebration of the Fenniscourt distillery’s commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability. Whether you’re an experienced connoisseur or simply exploring the world of Irish whiskey, the Fenniscourt 1.1 is a truly exceptional spirit that will be cherished for years to come.
